The 3rd annual IGNITE the Winter! is held on March 7th in Downtown Auburn. The festival is a family- friendly winter celebration, developed to stimulate economic activity in Downtown Auburn during the off-season.

The festival is held on Exchange Street with activities inside the Genesee Mall, the Auburn Public Theater and the municipal parking garage.


IGNITE the Winter! features a chili and comfort food cookoff (including fish and vegetarian options for those observing Lent). More than a dozen vendors from Auburn and Cayuga County are expected to participate in the cook-off. If you are interested in participating, there is more info at

IGNITE the Winter! promises top-notch musical entertainment, along with a live ice sculpture demonstration, children’s activities, horse-drawn wagon rides, beer and wine sales and complimentary events organized by Auburn’s Historic and Cultural Sites, including the Seward House Museum, Auburn Public Theater, and Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center.
